General Information 

This initiative aims to secure Foley House, Haverfordwest, through purchase or lease, and establish it as a Community Centre. There is currently an opportunity to access Government match-funding schemes, making early support vital.

Across the UK, many communities are successfully protecting important local assets through community ownership. Support and guidance for this project is being provided by the Plunkett Foundation.

We have also engaged PLANED to assist with the development of a shareholder prospectus, and have approached the Welsh Government for potential funding under the Community Facilities Activities Programme.

Our Goal

Our immediate priority is to purchase Foley House and transfer ownership to the community as quickly as possible. By pledging to purchase shares, you will help ensure this historic building is secured for community use now and for future generations.

Community Company Structure

With the support of Cwmpas, we are creating a Community Benefit Society (CBS) with a shareholding constitution. This structure will allow us to:

·         Access future community support funding.

·         Offer 30% tax relief through the Enterprise Investment Scheme (EIS) for qualifying UK taxpayers (e.g. an investment of £1,000 may generate £300 in tax relief).

·         Provide an annual dividend (subject to trading performance).

You may purchase multiple shares, but voting rights will remain on a one-person, one-vote basis to ensure fairness and equality.

Skills and Support

In addition to financial pledges, we welcome offers of skills, particularly in relation to listed building purchase, renovation, and management. If you are interested in joining the committee, please include a short letter outlining your experience and expertise.
