How It All Began

Adam’s Bucketful of Hope was born out of our family’s journey with cancer, and the desire to turn that experience into something positive for others. What started as a simple idea - to bring comfort, dignity, and strength to people facing life-limiting conditions - has grown into a vibrant community movement rooted in compassion, courage, and care.

Adam's Story

Adam Evans-Thomas was diagnosed with Chronic Myeloid Leukaemia in his early twenties. Even as he faced years of treatment and uncertainty, he met everything head-on with courage, humour, and a deep care for the people around him. He had a way of lifting others up, making them laugh, and reminding everyone to hold onto hope, even in the hardest moments. Adam sadly passed away at just 35, but the compassion and resilience he showed throughout his life continue to inspire everyone who hears his story.

From Small Steps to a Big Vision

Over the years, Bucketful of Hope has grown steadily. We’ve hosted garden parties, community fundraisers, and large-scale events like the Festival of Hope, bringing people together to celebrate life and raise funds for our cause.

What began in modest venues has now grown into a bold vision: restoring the historic Foley House in Haverfordwest. This Georgian treasure is being reborn as the Bucketful of Hope Cancer Support Centre, a place where heritage meets healing, and where our community can continue to thrive.

You're Part of Our Story

Our story is still being written... and you are part of it. Every donation, every hour volunteered, every fundraising event attended, and every kind word shared helps us grow stronger and reach more people in need. Together, we can ensure that hope is not just a word, but a living reality for families across Pembrokeshire.
