Alan Buckfield

Since moving to Haverfordwest in 2000, Alan Buckfield has been involved in many aspects of town life. Alongside others, he helped form the Haverford Improvement Project (HIP), which used profits from the Castle Beer Festival to fund a wide range of community activities. These included boat races, river clean-ups, international football tournaments, and street markets, as well as providing underwriting and insurance support for events run by other local organisations.

Alan’s connection with Adam’s Bucketful of Hope began when HIP lent its equipment to support a fundraising event. He has remained closely involved ever since and now serves as vice-chair.

Alan also served as a town councillor for nearly twenty years. During that time he chaired both the General Purposes and Finance Committees, acted as deputy mayor and Sheriff, and was elected Mayor on six occasions.
